This weekend our team of six athletes will be heading down to San Jose to compete against 29 other gyms that qualified teams during the CrossFit Open this year. In case you haven’t met these folks in classes, here is a brief intro (pictured from left to right):

Katie Enfield – hair stylist and owner of Rock Paper Scissors Salon (fancies herself a tan version of Edward Scissor Hands)  and has been doing CF since 2010.

Shannon Tracey Vandewalle, aka Shanimal – mortgage broker extraordinaire and co-owner of CrossFit North Gate. Has been doing CrossFit since 2010.

Lily Manspeaker – a dental hygienist and farmer who’s been doing CF since 2009.

Tim Scott – graduated from Sonoma State this spring, currently works for Cal Fire and has been doing CrossFit Since 2012.

Reza Kazemini – owner of Yogurt Time restaurants, frozen yogurt connoisseur and has been doing CrossFit since 2012.

Justin Neuroth – owner of Whiskey Tip restaurant & bar, lover of karaoke, and has been doing CrossFit since 2012.

We hope that you’ll be able to join us this weekend. If you are planning on coming down to catch the action, the team competition will be held in the morning, with individuals competing  in the afternoon. Our team will be in the arena for two workouts per day at approximately 9am and 10:30am, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

A couple of big shout-outs for some people who have been extremely supportive along the way: Anna Kemps has been incredibly helpful coordinating everyone who is making the trip down to San Jose. She’s been researching where to stay, event logistics, and has tirelessly planned the most fun way to tackle the weekend. Pat Pisenti (A.R.T. therapist/chiropractor) has been extremely generous with his treatments, keeping our athletes healthy and moving well. And last, but not least, Shannon and the girls at the lululemon showroom in Santa Rosa for keeping the team styling!

Please note that the gym schedule has changed. There will be no class at noon on Friday the 30th, and classes on Saturday and Sunday have been cancelled as well. We hope to see you down there; thanks for the support!
