On Saturday morning, December 6th we will be hosting an in-house power-lifting total (back squat, bench press, deadlift). Everyone is welcome to attend and participate. Don’t worry if you aren’t the strongest one in the gym; this is about testing yourself!
The powerlift total will start promptly at 9:30. The gym will be open at 9am so that you can get in and get warm. There will be a warm-up on the board for you to follow. At 9:30 we will start with the back squat. You will have three attempts to hit your 1RM. Your first lift should be something that you’re sure you can hit. Come with some idea of what your opening lifts will be. If you have questions about the format of the workout, or need help figuring out what your opening lifts should be, talk to Ryan or Shannon. There will also be movement standards posted on the white board. Please familiarize yourself with them and feel free to ask questions. You might need to start practicing these lifts with slightly different form (like pausing at the bottom of your bench press).
After class there will be a paleo-potluck brunch/holiday celebration at about 11am. Everyone is welcome to attend. There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the office. Please indicate if you would like to participate in the total, and if you are going to attend the party afterwards, what you’re planning to bring.

Also, Barbell Childcare will be open during the in-house power-lifting total as well as after class during the brunch. They are offering a special of $10 per child during the entire event. Come workout and enjoy some social time afterward without having to worry about entertaining your kiddos!!
