It’s time! The 2015 CrossFit Open starts this week.
For the next five weeks, we will come together as a gym and as a community to test our fitness. The Open is ultimately the first round of a selection process that will qualify individuals and teams for the CrossFit Games, but what it means to those of you who have done this before is greater than that. It is a chance to find out exactly how deep you can dig, and what you can accomplish. It is a chance to set an accurate baseline to compare yourself to, or to retest the progress you’ve made since last year. For the first year, there will be the option to scale workouts, making the Open more friendly to newer CF athletes than it has been in the past. So come out and participate. Be willing to put yourself out there and do work. Push yourself, and push each other. The more people we have participating, the stronger we will all be as a result.
Each week the workout will be announced on Thursday evening at 5pm. You will have the option of completing the workout on either Friday during the 4:30 or 5:30pm class, or on Monday during the 6am, 8:30, 9:30 or noon classes. If you cannot make those times, you can complete the workout during open gym on Sunday morning. You will have until 5pm on Monday to submit your scores.
