CrossFit Group Classes

The core of CrossFit NorthGate’s program are our group classes. Here, you will receive professional instruction from one of our highly qualified instructors. Classes last approximately one hour and incorporate:

  • a dynamic, skill-based warm-up and targeted mobilization
  • a workout that will consist of any combination of strength training, weightlifting, gymnastics and monostructural conditioning (cardio)
  • a cool-down with mobility/flexibility work.

Our classes are designed to meet the needs of a wide and diverse population. Whether you’re a first responder, a grandparent, an accomplished athlete or trying to get fit after a long time off; you will benefit from our coaching and instruction.

Strength Class/Open Gym

On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays we offer a slightly different class format to help accommodate our diverse range of athletes and schedules. All of our athletes follow a progressive strength and weightlifting program on either once, twice or three times a week. We believe that strength is paramount, and deserves at least one dedicated day per week so that all of our athletes can practice the foundational lifts in a slow, focused and safe environment. These strength/open gym classes also provide our athletes the opportunity to make up anything that they may have missed earlier in the week, and either work on their custom programs, or get in some extra skill work.

Olympic Weightlifting/NorthGate Barbell Club

Our weightlifting classes focus specifically on the two lifts that comprise the sport of weightlifting: the snatch and the Clean & Jerk. This class will focus on the drills and progressions required to develop these technical lifts. Additionally, if you would like to try a weightlifting competition, you can join NorthGate Barbell Club at one of the local meets that we attend.

Personal Training/Custom Goal Setting

Group training isn’t for everyone. If you have specific needs and goals that you feel can be better addressed in a private, one-on-one setting, we can give you the individual attention that you need. Additionally, if you have goals that need to be addressed outside of or in addition to our group classes, talk to a coach about creating a custom program built to get you where you want to be. Our trainers have experience with many different training protocols, whether you are trying to:

  • improve body composition
  • increase sports performance
  • avoid injury and gain bio-mechanical balance
  • get comfortable with weight training or begin exercising for the first time
CrossFit Competition

If you want to take “the sport of fitness” to the next level – whether in the CrossFit Games or at local throw-downs – CrossFit NorthGate can help you achieve your goals. Allow us to customize a program for you incorporating long-term and short-term phases designed to increase your skill, improve your weaknesses, and have your conditioning peaked for specific events. This program can be integrated into group classes or scheduled in a one-on-one or semi-private format.

CrossFit Endurance

CrossFit Endurance is a training protocol that prepares athletes for endurance sports (running, cycling, triathlon, swimming, etc.). This program includes CrossFit workouts as a foundation, and focuses on sport specific interval training to reach athletic performance. Generally, this program enables athletes to continue to compete at a high level in less time, with less injury, and without sacrificing strength in the process.

You will find CrossFit NorthGate athletes at a variety of races throughout the season including running, cycling, triathlon and swimming.

CrossFit Mobility/CrossFit Gymnastics

Additionally, we have CrossFit Mobilty and CrossFit Gymnastics certified trainers. Our goal is to keep you healthy, and a big part of that is making sure that you have the range of motion to perform movement with proper position. We will spend time in every class working on better movement. However, if you have specific needs or limitations, we can help you address muscular imbalance and lack of flexibility.
